Konami Announces New Yu-Gi-Oh! Game In Development For 2021

Well here’s something I certainly didn’t expect to see today. Konami via their Jump Festa 2021 livestream, has announced that they are in development on a new Yu-Gi-Oh! Digital title based on the “Master Duels” of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. That means like Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution, we will be seeing the “full fat” experience. 5 card zones. Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum and Link summons. The whole works.

New Master Duel Game Announced for Yu-Gi-Oh!

Now what we don’t know is a concrete release date, the name of the game (it could be a digital platform rather than a “game”), what devices or consoles it’s releasing on or even if it’s going to be similar to LOTD and have all the cards day 1, or be it’s own ecosystem of cards like Duel Links, but not be bound by each world being introduced one at a time. We’ll just have to wait for more information, likely coming in 2021.

We also don’t know who is developing the game. Other Ocean Interactive handled the development of Legacy of the Duelist, Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution, Duel Generation, Millennium Duels and Decade Duels Plus for Konami Digital Entertainment. It does seem though, that this game is being done “in house” by Konami Japan, so hopefully the experience is a lot cleaner, more streamlined, and overall a much better game.

The game is likely targeting a 2021 release, however given the many delays Duel Links suffered, we might be looking even longer. Anyway, stay tuned to LinkEvolutionPro and ItsBradazHD on YouTube to stay up-to-date on news about this game. It’s going to be a fun year for sure.
