New Update March 24th: Here’s Whats New!
Into the VRAINS!
So you may have heard that Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution is finally getting an update – and you’re right! However there’s a lot of mixed news out there as to what is actually in the update, as well as what this means for owners of the original Legacy of the Duelist game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC Steam. Today we’re going to break it all down in a quick and simple article for you all.
- Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution is a BRAND NEW game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Owners of the original game WILL NOT receive a free update to add in all the new content.
- Owners of Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution on the Nintendo Switch WILL receive a free update to add all the new content.
- The game will be digital download only on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and will retail for $39.99 or €39.99 depending on your country (other prices to be confirmed – but expect them to be the same price as the Nintendo Switch release).
- The update will add over 900+ new cards, taking the total to just over 10,000 – including cards from Ignition Assault, Legendary Duelists: Magical Hero, Structure Deck: Shaddoll Showdown and Duel Overload. This does NOT include any TCG Exclusives from sets released after July 2019, i.e. Dream Mirror & Plunder Patrol
- There will be a small selection of OCG Exclusive cards available for the first time outside of Japan.
- The Forbidden and Limited List (banlist) will be updated to a compilation of the current OCG and TCG lists.
- The game will now use the April 1st 2020 Master Rule Revision rule set, commonly referred to as Master Rule 5. This change allows Fusion, Synchro and Xyz monsters to be summoned to any Main Monster Zone instead of having to be summoned first to the Extra Monster Zone.
- 15 new characters from the world of the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime will be playable in game, and the VRAINS campaign mode will be updated to feature duels from across the show’s 100+ episode run including Soulburner vs Revolver and Playmaker vs A.I
- A minimum of 4 Brand New summoning animations for key ace monsters from the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime including Exodia the Forbidden One, Salamangreat Heatleo, Borreload Dragon and Dark Magician Girl.
