Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution, both at 60% off on Steam and other digital distribution stores. You can find the latest deals over at our Sales Guide.

However, choosing which version of the game to buy shouldn’t be a difficult task. So we’ve written this quick guide to tell you the differences between the two releases, as well as give our recommendation for which version of the game you should buy (Spoilers: It’s Link Evolution).

That’s a brief summary up above of the differences between the two games. However it is worth saying, that as of right now it looks as though neither game will be receiving any form of future updates from Konami, due to the announcement of a brand new Master Duels game due to release in the future. Therefore if you are a fan of the TCG, and are familiar with the current rule-set and card pool, then Link Evolution will be much easier for you to transition into.

The only time we could ever recommend the original Legacy of the Duelist over Link Evolution, is for Achievement hunters looking to get some quick/cheap gamer score. Everyone should be playing the most complete, up-to-date version of the game, and should not have to pay upwards of $100 outside of a sale in order to experience all the game’s content, which you would have to for the original release.
